In 1993, Guthrie first ventured into property development when it tendered and was successfully awarded the land parcel located in the west of Singapore for retail development. Together with Lee Kim Tah Holdings Limited, Guthrie built Jurong Point – which is currently the largest suburban shopping mall in Singapore.
